Doodles: I’ve returned to my college days and begun doodling again. Here’s a sample…

Crochet: Taught by my mom at a young age, I’ve been crocheting for years. However, I just recently completed my very first project. (Interestingly, I have saved most of my “attempts” over the years and one day plan to sew them all together for the ultimate mismatched blanket.) It was a baby blanket for my cousin’s first baby, Ben. I began it soon after finding out I was pregnant myself and thought I could finish in two months, when Ben was due. Well, having had a difficult pregnancy and not being able to do very much of anything, to the closet the project went. Ben celebrated his first birthday this past November with no crocheted blanket from Aunt Kristen. Finally, a year and a half later the blanket is done. Now, I just need to plan a visit so I can give it to him.

Mosaics: I love mosaics. Looking at them, that is. They’re so intriguing. Like organized chaos that feeds my OCD complex. Doing them? Hard and messy. I’ve had only a few attempts at making them myself. And again, only one finished piece. Here it is… a tray for my son’s changing table.

For more mosaics, well here’s the link to whenever I do more.

Shell Art: For the love of the beach and inspired by Tibetan monks’ sand art, whose philosophy is to painstakingly create a dramatic piece of art with vibrant-colored sand then have the wind blow it away as a reflection of the fragility of life, thus my shell art was born.

Word Art: Kind of speaks for itself.

Hand-Painted Bead Bracelets: The Angela Moore bracelets on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue were way too expensive. Here’s another project that heard an “I can do that myself!” Here were the results:

Pendants: Thanks to my college roommate for posting a picture on Facebook sporting her “J” Scrabble pendant necklace, I went nuts making my own.

Cakes & Cupcakes: When you make them, you get to eat them. Duh.

Silkscreen Art: This began by making onesies for my son.

Unclassified Art: There won’t be enough of one thing to get it’s own category. And this is probably a good place for random, unfinished projects to go.
