Bookish Things

I’m drawn to creative uses of books.

This one is thanks to donaldist on Flickr. It’s a display at the University Library in Aalborg, Denmark. What a great window display this would make for indies at Christmastime. Ah, I wish I still worked in a bookstore.

This one caught my attention as it harkens back to my obsession with origami. So simple and so festive. Courtesy of Kimbrough Library on Flickr.

This is just because I had my camera, my book and a long wait to take off. And an empty seat next to me. Pillars of the Earth is such an epic gem, I figured it needed to be seated alone and well protected.

A bit of history goes with this one. Tony Weller, son of Sam Weller—as in the legendary Sam Weller’s Books in Salt Lake City, Utah—peeks out of the Rare Book Vault in the bookstore.

Another Weller’s special…

I still can’t believe I was in Salt Lake City and missed this. Thanks, Kelly!

Just generic. It’s actually of Boulder Bookstore.

The “Idiom” book tower at the Prague Municipal Library. I REALLY want to see this in person.

I’ve been wanting to try this, so here’s my version:
